We are a father-and-son duo, both named James, with a shared passion for storytelling and imagination. I was born and raised in Chicago, and after graduating high school, I joined the Marine Corps. My time in the service taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of core values—principles I carry with me every day. As a man of faith, I strive to instill these same virtues in my son, guiding him to be the best version of himself. My son, James, is currently a sophomore in high school. From a young age, he’s been captivated by the mysteries of space and has always displayed a remarkable imagination. Watching him grow into an admirable young man has been one of my greatest joys. Together, we’ve combined our experiences and creativity to create something we’re proud to share with others—a story that reflects our values, curiosity, and bond as father and son. Inspiration for the Book Series The inspiration for the book series came one evening while stargazing with my son; He was eight years old at the time. As we looked up at the vast expanse of stars, he asked a question that sparked our imagination: "What if the planets were human? How would they act? What emotions would they have? And... would they want to hang out with Pluto?" That single moment of curiosity led to the creation of a cast of planetary beings, each with unique personalities, quirks, and feelings. Together, my son and I brought these characters to life; a story that blends wonder, humor, friendship and heart. Through these relatable characters, the stories delve into the everyday struggles of adolescence—whether it's self-doubt, peer pressure, or personal challenges—and shows how genuine friendships can provide support, understanding, and strength. This book series is a celebration of our differences and highlights the transformative power of friendship. By weaving these themes into engaging stories, the series inspires readers to embrace their uniqueness and the connections that help them thrive.
